Choosing the Right Size
A single 300 x 300mm niche suits most everyday shampoo and soap storage for one or two people. Go for 600 x 300mm if you'd rather lay everything out on one shelf than stack bottles, or step up to 900 x 300mm for a two-person bathroom or a fuller skincare routine. All three sizes are available in both finishes.
Finishes
Gunmetal grey pairs naturally with black or matt black fittings for a contemporary bathroom. Brushed steel sits closer to chrome and blends well against most existing tilework, particularly in bathrooms that mix warm and cool metals.
Installation
Shower niches are far easier to fit before tiling, since the unit recesses into the wall cavity rather than sitting on the surface. If you're renovating from scratch, plan the niche position and depth into the stud or masonry wall before the tiler starts. Retrofitting an already-tiled shower is possible but means removing tiles around the fitting area first, so it's worth deciding on this early in a bathroom project.
