Yet, it is not recommended to clutter up each square meter of such a bathroom completely. It is better to equip it according to the principle: "less is better", for example, define three main zones (bath, washbasin, and toilet) and furnish them with high-quality sanitary ware and furniture.

If you need to place some additional items in the bathroom space (such as washing machine, cupboard, bidet), then it would be better to abandon the large objects of prime necessity and choose a washbasin and a bath of medium size or replace the latter with the shower enclosure.

Thus, the following examples are given for successful planning solutions for the bathrooms of different shapes: square, rectangular or narrow.

Planning No. 1

ADVANTAGES:

Despite the fact that the bathroom is equipped with a large number of items, it remains spacious enough, because the appliances and furniture are placed along the perimeter of the walls.

A large bath is equipped with the shelves, merging into the box behind the toilet bowl and bidet. Its bench can be used as a shelf for cosmetics and other stuff.

It is necessary to note the presence of a wide working area, spacious washing machine and additional storage cabinet.

DISADVANTAGES:

This planning has no substantial disadvantages.

Please note:

  • The bath can be equipped with a static partition (a protective curtain), then it will also become a shower cabin.
  • In this case, it is better not to install towel holders within the limits of the bath (as shown on the photo), as the textile will absorb the moisture continuously.

Planning No. 2

ADVANTAGES:

Bath in an end face of one of the short walls performs the role of shower cabin and the working area can be used by two people simultaneously, thus it automatically becomes a strong advantage of this planning.

Note a conveniently located holder for towels, and the presence of a broad rack cabinet in the corner. In general, the room looks spacious and functional.

DISADVANTAGES:

Location of the toilet bowl is doubtful; perhaps it would be better to install it in the area of cabinet and put the latter between the washbasin and the bath.

Please note:

  • Due to the elongated shape it can be a bit dark without the proper illumination in the bathroom. Installation of at least two sources of the overhead lighting and working lighting is a must here.

Planning No. 3

ADVANTAGES:

The shape of the room is close to the square one, but its dimensions allowed to plan the space in the best way, by envisaging the simultaneous installation of fully-featured bath and shower cabin that form a single separate zone.

A large washbasin with a wide tabletop is located along the opposite side of the wall, and the narrow closet that separates the working area from the toilet.

DISADVANTAGES:

Such a planning leaves no place for the washing machine, as well as, for example, for the bidet.

Please note:

  • If you install the washbasin, half as large of the one that is shown on the plan, then it would be possible to place a washing machine in the corner near the front door.

Planning No. 4

ADVANTAGES:

The room is equipped with the bath and the shower cabin at the same time; it is convenient for the couple, as well as the presence of two washbasins in the working area.

There is a good location for the towel holder, and it is possible to store a variety of the bathroom supplies in the closet.

DISADVANTAGES:

There is no washing machine, but even if you install it instead of the closet, the room would look too stuffed.

Please note:

  • The entire perimeter of the room is equipped with the large-sized appliances and furniture.
  • It is advisable to use light colors of the coating materials to lighten the environment of the room visually, or to hang a large unframed mirror on one of the walls.

The larger the bathroom is, the more opportunities you have for its furnishing. We strongly recommend you to use the available space competently, thus the room will become surprisingly harmonious. Good luck!
